Schedule

Our days generally will be spent as follows:

7:00-7:30 – Children arrive at different times, this time is quiet play until breakfast is ready

7:30-8:45 – Breakfast time

8:45-9:00 – Brush teeth, diaper changes and get ready for the bus

9:00-11:45 – Preschool day, educational activities, outside play, music class

11:45-12:30 – Lunch

12:30-1:00 – Brush teeth, diaper changes and get ready for naps

1:00-1:30 – Quiet time before naps – we often read or watch tv

1:30-3:30 – Story and nap or rest time

3:30-4:00 – Snack time

4:00-5:00 – Outside play/creative play until it is time to go home

Please be conscious of these times.  If a child comes after 8:15am please be sure that they have already been fed breakfast.  Please note our quiet times and come and go quietly.  The dogs tend to go crazy if people come to the door at unexpected times so please let me know if you are coming so I can calm them before you get here.  Children that arrive during these quiet times should be made aare that they would be expected to observe the quiet time.  School age children will be required to do a quiet activity such as coloring, reading etc.

Activities

Show and Tell will be each Friday of the week.  The show and tell items will be placed in your Childs basket until show and tell time.  Please do not bring live animals.  Be sure everything your child brings is labeled with your Childs name.  Please only bring things from home on show and tell days.

Field trips will be scheduled periodically throughout the year.  Parents may not always be notified in advance of field trips, but every effort will be made to do so.  A child may not participate in a field trip unless parents have signed the travel authorization form.  All children will be transported according to MN Licensing requirements.  Some field trips may have an extra cost, parents will be asked permission before incurring those additional costs.

Outdoor play is an important part of your child’s day.  We will go outside each day that weather is permitting.  In the winter we will go outside whenever the temperature is above 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  In the winter months, please be sure you child/ren has a jacket, snow pants, boots, mittens and a hat each day.  You are welcome to leave an extra set here.

Television viewing is an important issue for many parents.  Screen time is very limited and monitored to videos I approve of only.  Viewing time may be from 1:00-1:30 each day.  We also may have a theme day during the month where we watch a particular movie.  I do have PJ movie day one day a month where the children wear their pajamas and get to bring movies from home.

Along with these particular activities, each day I will have a variety of activities available for the children.  Those activities will include:
